Episode 4 : The Weekend Special

“I should probably give up on using kohl. Why should it smudge so much? Damn. Never ever trust the ads again,” she murmured standing against a mirror, cleaning and cursing the disappointment she had recently purchased. Sara suffered soliloquy, a lot. Suffered because several times she had people giving her strange looks, seeing her talk to self; even occasional embarrassments of having a good soul walking up to her to check if she needed help. She had to either look away or forcibly throw a smile and shake her head to nullify their suspicion of her being insane; though she never understood how that alone helped. “Oh come on, I am not crazy” she replied behind their back, to herself, again.

Meanwhile, she had not seen much of either Sandy or Krish that entire week. She shared a few eye-locks with Krish though, which were instantly followed by an exchange of broad smiles, perhaps meaning a ‘hi’. But nothing more; they were distantly seated at the class, hurried up for the interns later and also, for a change, the topic taught was interesting, bringing down the otherwise high distraction rate.

Another uneventful week had passed. And so had another uninteresting class. It was a Saturday. With her best friend out vacationing, Sara probably had to kill the entire weekend at home. She, seated on her bike, planned a movie fest at home, mentally noting to fetch wafers and cola beforehand. She pulled on both, her smile and the helmet, ready for the ride back home.
Suddenly a voice from her back, “Do you like coffee?” She turned around to find Krish, smiling. Sara stared back in bewilderment.

< No| impossible| wait| but the movies?| Bradley Cooper?| ok I can make time| time is what you make, right?| come on, I need rest for the weekend| my mom makes good coffee| what is cool about drinking overpriced coffees?| I hate coffees| do I hate coffee?| wait, who shall pay?| ok, MIND, SHUT UP!!>

“Yeah! I like coffee!”

They don’t look forward to the weekends for nothing, do they?
